People might throw around the term “anger management” jokingly, and you might remember a movie by this name but, anger issues are very real, very serious, and affect more people than you might think. We’ve included some silly gifs but again, having anger issues is something that you should address with appropriate therapy.

Do you react violently when you’re angry? Do you resort to breaking things, attacking people or becoming aggressive in some other way? This is one of the main and easiest-to-spot warning signs issues with controlling anger.
#2. You become angry easily.
If you are easily angered by every day activities, like watching television, driving, or working, you could have an anger problem.

Arguments can be common in any relationship but, if you’re having frequent arguments with others that seem to escalate quickly, this can be a sign of an anger control problem.
#4. You crave alcohol or drugs when you’re angry.
In the past, you often turned to alcohol and/or other drugs when you felt angry or upset – as a way of coping. Now that you’re clean and sober, if you still have anger issues, you might find that your mind wanders to thoughts of drinking or using when your temper starts to flare. You also might turn to other unhealthy ways of coping like eating or gambling.
#5. You are unable to set your feelings of anger aside.
People with anger management issues have trouble concentrating once they begin to feel anger. You’re unwilling to compromise or feel empathy. You might react with sarcasm and lose your sense of humor rather quickly. You also have no patience for others and won’t accept that their point-of-view can differ from yours.
#6. You feel tense and experience headaches.
also good for #7
If you have issues with anger management, you might experience headaches frequently. Oftentimes, it’s due to clenching your jaw, which can create tension in the head, which in turn leads to headaches and a sore jaw. You may experience fast breathing as well as fast pulse as your heart speeds up. People with anger issues also describe “seeing red” – having tunnel.
#7. You often blame others for your problems.
If you experience feelings of guilt, anxiety or inadequacy, you look for things to blame others for instead of processing these emotions. You also blame others for whatever problems you have instead of seeing your part in it.
#8. You have a track record with the law.
Take a look back at into whether you have had frequent problems with the law. It might be lesser infractions like speeding tickets but, did you get those tickets as a result of driving rage? If you have had any assault charges, this is a more obvious sign of anger control issues.
