July 18th, 2012 – On Friday, July 13th, 2012, Sylvester Stallone lost his eldest son, Sage Moonblood Stallone, (age 36) to an apparent overdose. Whether or not the overdose was accidental or suicidal is up in the air.

Many are speculating that the actor/producer/director was troubled with financial problems and depression. However, Sage was planning a lavish wedding to his girlfriend in a few weeks and updating his Facebook page regularly. The claims of “depression” don’t seem to add up, according to his close friends.

He recently went through major oral surgery in which he was prescribed pain medication for relief.  His mother tells news sources that she urged him not to undergo the major dental surgery (in which five of his teeth were pulled) in fear that he might overdose.

Police officials believe an accidental overdose killed him. There was no suicide note left at the scene, but Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said prescription pill bottles were found in the room.

There have also been reports of “several little baggies” of white powder that are currently being tested for its composition.

Everyone seems to have their own theories as to what exactly happened.

Hi mother claims it was accidental…

A facebook rant by his cousin (which he recanted) suggests Sage might have felt abandoned by his father of his stepmother (Jennifer Flavin) doing which led him to being depressed

And his father appears to not rule out any possibilities by hiring a private investigator on the case of his son’s death.

Sylvester Stallone has hired private investigator Scott Ross to look into any foul play and find out what really happened. Scott Ross is a high profile private investigator whose worked with the Stallone’s before as well as other notable cases like the Chris Brown and Rihanna assault case and the Michael Jackson molestation case in 2009.

The autopsy was completed on Sage Moonblood Stallone’s body on Sunday and the results of toxicology can take up to 6 weeks to be revealed.

I hope this was not an overdose and somehow his death can be attributed to natural causes. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what surfaces after the autopsy report is released. Our condolences to the Stallone and Czack family as they deal with the death of a young and talented young man.

Update (7.20.12) – ABC News is reporting that Authorities, Sage’s Family and Doctors deny any reports of Sage Stallone being an addict.

Sylvestor Stallone issued a statement to TMZ:

“When a parent loses a child there is no greater pain…therefore, I am imploring people to respect my talented son’s memory and feel compassion for his loving mother, Sasha. This agonizing loss will be felt for the rest of our lives. Sage was our first child and the center of our universe, and I am humbly begging for all to have my son’s memory and soul left in peace.”
