Short term inpatient rehabilitation usually lasts 28-30 days. Short term inpatient rehabilitation can be especially beneficial for those who have been doing an outpatient treatment program and find themselves needing a little extra care. It gives you the ability to get out of a toxic environment for a short period time. Giving you exactly what you need to come out a few weeks later with some extra tools, clean time etc. Short term inpatient rehabilitation helps you to maintain a long lasting sobriety.
Most of the time someone such as myself that is an addict or alcoholic needs a long term treatment center in order to find recovery. This is because of the years of using that need to be reversed by a few months of clean time and learning life skills again. If you asked me, I would always recommend the longer stay at rehabilitation center. Short term inpatient rehabilitation although can achieve the same results but you have to be willing to listen, open minded, and accepting of what you are being taught. That is not always easy if you aren’t ready to get clean. If you are though any amount of treatment including short term inpatient rehabilitation is ideal.
