Many of us are burdened with our past; we let the memory of the past drag us down. We seem to hit the “rewind button” in our memory and replay the wounds from way back when. We will also start with one painful memory, which leads to other unpleasant memories, and so on.  And if we are not careful, we can spend most of our time entertaining these negative thoughts, even fantasizing about getting vindication or even vengeance from past hurts.

The trouble is, if we waste time dwelling on the past, the present is wasted as well. And wasting the present is just adding up to a wasted past; and on it goes.
